From the Loire to the Vendée, the coast alternates long sandy beaches and coastal marshes. The range, about 5–6 m at springs, exposes wide flats good for foraging : around Noirmoutier and the Bay of Bourgneuf. La Baule, Pornic and Les Sables-d'Olonne are among the busiest resorts.

It's a tidal road linking Noirmoutier to the mainland, passable only a few hours around low water. Always check official times before crossing.
Where to forage in the Vendée?
Around Noirmoutier and the Bay of Bourgneuf, at big coefficients (> 80). Respect catch sizes and quotas, and watch the returning tide.
